All plates over 1-1/2″ Thick are required to be normalized. A516 Grade 70 steel is the most popular pressure vessel grade of steel plate in the industry.

Generally, the development speed of oxidation depth at working temperature is required to be less than 0.1mm/year. The addition of chromium, nickel, aluminum and silicon can improve the oxidation resistance of steel.
